Terra Initia is a merchant (negociant) project whose idea is to select wines that can convey the true spirit of Georgia: wines that glorify the oldest of the terroirs and the organoleptic of indigenous varieties. After all, these terroirs and grapes can both be proud of history and be confident about the future.
The world's largest international wine contest, Austrian Wine Challenge Vienna 2018, awarded each of the presented Terra Initia samples with gold, silver and bronze medals. The most influential wine competition from Decanter magazine (Great Britain) awarded Terra Initia wines with two silver and bronze medals, and Terra Initia Kisi 2015 was recognized as one of the 7 best wines of Georgia!
In 2018, the collection was replenished with red and orange wines from the highest quality qvevri, making the ancient Georgian winemaking tradition closer and more accessible to every Ukrainian. In 2019, Terra Initia Mukuzani 2015 received 88 out of 100 points from Wine & Spirits Magazine and was included in Top 100 Values 2019 list.

Under the control of the chief wine-maker David Maisuradze 10 best wines from iconic Georgian producers from the regions of Kakheti and Racha-Lechkhumi are selected annually. The terroirs of these regions are the most diverse: they account for 90% of the country's appellations, each of which has its own individual character, worthy of attention. This way, the line includes 4 "terroir wines": Tsinandali, Mukuzani, Kindzmarauli and Khvanchkara.
In addition, the selection of the best varietal wines is carried out from indigenous varieties of grapes Kisi, Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli and Saperavi. Despite the fact that the company owns 40 hectares of its own vineyards, only the best of these crops are used to make the wine for the collection. Two natural semi-sweet wines Banovani are pleasant addition, which is translated from Georgian as "aristocrat". These are unique wines created personally by David Maisuradze to show how uncommon and subtle the regional semi-sweet wines of Kakheti can be.

As a result of multi-level selection from vintage to vintage, Terra Initia wines are characterized by an enviable consistency of quality and style. After all, the goal always remains the same: to express the subtle, yet diverse features of the terroirs of Georgia and to reveal the potential of indigenous varieties, the diversity of which is beyond the bounds of all known Saperavi and Rkatsiteli.
The Terra Initia collection - translated from Latin as "original land" - is named after the recognition of Georgia as the country where the world's winemaking was born. All wines are marked with whale labels, which makes them easily recognizable. The oldest of the animals, a symbol of power and rebirth - the whale - bears on itself a land that presented mankind with wine, personifying Georgia at a new stage in the development of winemaking.
